Board trainings for Highland Park and Plainfield, NJ
We routinely provide board training for Main Street organizations and business improvement districts in the area. We were delighted to be invited back to these two organizations to help their boards to understand their roles and responsibilities. Board training is 90 minutes long and talks about the state’s nonprofit law and the board members’ legal duties as fiduciaries. We explain how the organization fulfills its duty of Care, Loyalty and Obedience to the law through good governance practices. We also spend time talking about the role of the board versus the role of the staff regarding fundraising and staff management. Does your board need training? We recommend training once a year, shortly after the annual meeting, to reinforce organizational values and norms and to assure that new board members can start their work strong.
