Camden County History Week

We have been working with the Camden County History Alliance for the last six months to help them plan the first ever Camden County History Week to be held from October 13th to 21st. As part of this effort, we are producing rack cards for 22 historic sites which will be used to cross-market these sites to visitors based on seven thematic heritage trails that tie these historic sites together.

In preparation for the History Week, we are also creating a Heritage Trails Map and Guide, which will be completed in September. This large, four-color foldout map will visually display the heritage trails and provide capsule information about each of the 48 history organizations involved with the Alliance.  Finally, for History Week October 13 to 21, we will be printing an event guide/passport to encourage the public to visit the many sites and organizations that have planned special activities for adults and kids during History Week.  We will also be offering several prizes including one for an Individual who has their passport stamped, along with other prizes to be distributed via random drawing.

We continue to send a monthly newsletter with event listings from the 48 history organizations. The Camden County Heritage Tourism Plan is being funded with a grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust’s Historic Site Management Program to the Camden County Historical Society.  Funding for all the design and printing for History Week is from the Rohrer Foundation.
