Lecture to Class at Penn Preservation Program

For the third year we are providing a talk for Don Rypkema’s Preservation Economics Class at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate Program in Historic Preservation. We do part one of a two-hour course talking about the Main Street Approach™, how it began, the four points, eight principals, and the role of board, staff and committees in Main Street and organizational growth. The second hour is provided by former intern and 9-year Main Street veteran Alex Balloon of the Tacony Community Development Corporation. Normally we enjoy doing this class together live, but COVID has forced us to record our sessions on Zoom and participate in a live class meeting to answer questions and talk more about downtown revitalization. It is nice to meet these students and I admit that I hope that several apply for internships I have open right now.
