Internship Opportunity 2022 Heritage Consulting Inc

WE ARE SEEKING INTERNS FOR PROJECTS NOW, APPLY TODAY!

Heritage Consulting Inc., a 17-year-old Philadelphia-based preservation planning and consulting firm with clients nationwide, is collecting resumes for several internship assignments right now and through the school year. The intern(s) will work directly with firm principal Donna Ann Harris. We have several paid internships available. They are all part time and project based starting now, through the school year, and into summer to assist on several projects. Projects may include but are not limited to the following skills:

  1. Library, journal, internet, and photo research on a variety of downtown revitalization, fundraising, planning or historic preservation topics
  2. Develop online and paper surveys, tabulate, analyze and produce draft reports on data for review using Survey Monkey
  3. Assist with interviews, focus groups, contact participants, take notes
  4. Research topics and issues related to historic house museums, commercial district revitalization, and      nonprofit organizational development.
  5. Write drafts of portions of reports for review
  6. Create graphics, report covers, survey forms, spread sheets, simple maps, PowerPoint graphics or another picture research
  7. Proofread/copy edit documents, proposals, reports as needed, write sections of draft reports, newsletters, web site  stories, proposals or case studies as needed.

Internship Location

The intern will work off site on his or her own PC and Microsoft operating system. If you use a MAC, please discuss this during the interview, as you must have Microsoft Office Suite. Progress meetings will occur weekly during the internship period at Heritage Consulting Inc.’s home office or on the phone/Zoom.

Stipend and Timetable

The internship period is flexible and part time. Depending on projects in the office, there may be more than one internship opportunity. We anticipate paying $20 an hour. Depending on the need, some projects may have very limited turnaround time. All our work is project based. Interns will be 1099 employees, no benefits offered. There may be opportunities to attend client meetings, and these will be determined later.\

Experience

Intern must have excellent skills using the Microsoft Office Suite, library and Internet searching skills. High quality writing skills are essential as is copy editing. Excellent attention to detail is expected. Skills in graphic design, public administration, finance, museum studies, urban planning and/or historic preservation is preferred, and those enrolled in master’s degree programs are encouraged to apply.

In the past 17 years, our interns have continued to work for us after thw internship period and throughout the school year and  after. We promoted our last two interns to associates in our firm and we actively assisted our interns to find other full- time positions as they began their careers.
