Donna Ann Harris, Principal Heritage Consulting Inc., assisted Downtown Milford, Inc. (DE) (DMI) in the planning and writing of facade guidelines for our designated Main Street downtown in 2018. Donna's oversight of the process from beginning to end was exceptional. Meetings were scheduled and organized with appropriate materials and follow-up. Committee members were kept apprised of the process and progress until the guidelines were completed. In addition, Donna put together not only a hard copy of the guidelines, but a slide presentation used to present the recommendations to the public.
Donna demonstrated a Herculean resolve and determination to see our young organization through the process of creating our first strategic plan. Through it all she calmly, patiently, and persistently prodded to make sure we got the best work product. As a collaborator her willingness to embrace new ideas from the field, such as the Main Street Refresh, and integrate it into her own thinking was impressive. I hope the plan that was developed guides our community and stands as a model for other places to follow. Thank you Donna for your efforts and your many contributions to strengthening Main Street organizations in New Jersey and throughout America. You're a national treasure.
I worked closely with Donna while facilitating a Business Improvement District (BID) feasibility study that led to the creation of a Proposed BID Plan for the South 9th Street Area in Philadelphia. Both Donna’s wealth of experience gained through her on-going commitment to the field and astute ability to recognize unique situations while remaining able to "tell it like it is" were instrumental in advancing our efforts.
