Camden County History Alliance Heritage Tourism Plan

Camden County Historical Society, Camden NJ

I

in July, the Camden County Historical Society received a grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust License Plate Program to begin work on the Camden County Heritage Tourism Plan. The grant project includes an online survey of the 41 historic sites and history organizations that make up the Camden County History Alliance.  The main purpose of the survey is to identify a series of historic themes to link these historic sites and organizations together. The survey gathered a great deal of information about all the Camden County History Alliance Partners (CCHA), which will be useful for future advocacy, educational programming, and planning purposes. The survey was completed in early September with 90% of the organizations participating. The findings report is being written now. We will work with the Historical Society to identify thematic tour routes for the future, which will link together sites that have buildings open to the public. This photo is of the Glover Fulling Mill Park in Haddon Heights NJ, one of the CCHA partner organizations. We completed a Heritage Tourism Assessment of this property in 2016.

We can help preservation organizations decide on their future course. Contact us for help.
