Planning for a Revolving Loan Fund for Philadelphia

We are honored to be chairing a new committee of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia charged with creating a new low interest, short term Revolving Loan Fund for exterior repair of City of Philadelphia designated historic homes. This loan fund is being launched with funds from a sizable bequest to the Alliance and will target a specific locally designated historic district (yet to be determined). In targeting this work to one district, we hope to show the impact that the investment of modest loans can have on a small number of blocks within a larger historic district. The first year will be a pilot project. The program is designed for low- and moderate-income homeowners or landlords with up to four units in one building.

As a new board member of the Preservation Alliance, we are highly engaged in this work and have an active nine-member committee, along with the other volunteers who are collaborating on this project.
